Hud Guthrie of Alabama & his San Miguel Hunting Ranches' South Texas Buck (Pictured with Mike Gardner owner of San Miguel)
October 16, 2002: The picture above
is of feral hog that I harvested at the Buck n' Boar Ranch at Grapeland,
Texas. I used a
Wildey .475 mag
semi automatic handgun. It made an exciting hunt.
You can always add excitement and challenges to your hunts
by trying somewhere are something new. Thanks to Chris at Buck
n' Boar for all of his help. We plan to be back there with one
of our Hunt of a Lifetime hunters.
Dr. Mike Thrasher & Archery Harvest Buck
Notice the split brow tine on the buck's right side
October 10, 2002:
Three years of waiting pays big dividends for Waco
Archer. Dr. Mike Thrasher of Waco harvested the buck above
after a three year wait. We had hunted this deer last year (see
picture below) and was unable to get a shot and that may be good, because
he grew quite a bit with that one year wait. Congratulations,
I know you are proud of this one.
Dr. Mike Thrasher's buck, last year!
Look at Bird on Deer's left Antler October 7, 2002: O.K. I thought, I had just about seen it all, but how about a bird landing on a deer's antlers. The picture above was taken from a recent hunting video. The small bird you see on the deer's left antler kept on wanting to set on the deer's antlers. First on the right side and then on the deer's back and then on the left side of the antlers. After a little while the deer would shake his head to rid himself of the feathered pest. ¡

David Rose & his Archery Harvest Buck
October 5, 2001: As we enter into
the second weekend of archery season the deer reports are being
to come in to us at Texas Deer Hunter. David Rose sent us the
picture above and maybe we can get him to send us a little story about
when and where he was able to harvest such a nice deer. Keeps
the stories and pictures coming and I will try to share them with the
others in the Texas Deer Hunter Family.
Custard Mcleod & I with my Homestead Ranch Elk
My Judith River Ranch Elk (Judith River Ranch, Montana)
September 06, 2002: The mountains
are beginning to experience cooler weather and the distant sound
of bulging elk. The annual trip to the mountains is nearing
for those in pursuit of the Bull Elk. Watch for pictures, of
this year's reports.
